It's always been that way in the Northeast.

If You are on Layoff , You Don't Have to Answer a Work Call ! Until You are Recalled . . . But They Can Go Down the List of Laided Off Workers Until Someone Works & You Don't Have a Claim ! Most Guys will Work While on Layoff Status , Not Me I'd Make Them Recall Me . . . If No one on Layoff answered a Work Call They Would Be Forced to Recall Someone ! . . .

Not necessarily Jim. If the no answers were from local cartage workers they could then use the 4 hour casuals. Of course they can't use casuals on the road in the Central but if they had this issue they could use as many foreign drivers as they could to do the work of the terminal where the laid off guys wouldn't work. But they'd probably get sick of that and eventually call a few back.

You have the luxury of being on the Local 710 area wide dock and warehouse agreement. I have not seen the revisions to that agreement. Call your BA or any agent at the hall to be certain.
