Re: Hvxp work or road drivers work
I didn't say it was right. I don't think it's right. But I was giving Tiredseat an honest answer to the best of my knowledge and added that maybe somebody else knows something I don't about when the Utility Panel last heard cases. And these were YRC cases....I'm not sure if ABF had any there or not.

Re: Hvxp work or road drivers work
But that is what I get so upset about. When it comes to helping the members the IBT now turns a deaf ear our way. Damn it lets fight that is what we are all about. Fighting the injustices brought on by greedy corporate executives. Everybody seems to know these BA's by name so lets hear the names of the ones that my BROTHERS think are laying down on the job. Hell post their names and let us start e-mailing them and see why grievances are not being heard. I would really like to see some of the people on this site call a BA out for not doing his job. YOUR AWAITING BROTHER ALWAYS!

Re: Hvxp work or road drivers work
Muler,
It's not BAs not doing their jobs.....when any Utility grievance is submitted it goes on the state agenda and then is automatically sent to the Utility Panel. When the panel gets together to hear cases then the BA will do his job presenting the best case he can. Calling out BAs who have nothing to do with when the panel convenes would be wrong. They have no control over when these cases are heard.

Re: Hvxp work or road drivers work
I am not going to blame my BAs because the TMI/IBT negotiated NMFA calls for a special panel to hear all Utility grievences. It's not the BA's fault if the panel hardly ever meets.
If I remember correctly ABF chose to withdraw from TMI before contract negotiations started, something about not wanting a contract custom made for YRC.
Well Utility is a YRC concept that replaced the PSE when ABF agreed to the current NMFA. ABF must have seen something that they liked in that contract. Didn't they pay a ton of money to linehaul drivers for grievences filed against the old PSE operation? I wonder how many, if any, Utility grievences that ABF has lost.

Re: Hvxp work or road drivers work
No, I don't have anything on them at all. I met them at a Yellow and later a YRC Change of Operation. They seemed like good guys to me and my Local Officials have known them for years and get along good with them. They, like all the rest of the Local Officers and BAs, have no influence as to when the Utility grievances are heard. It may not be right but a lot of things have been put on the back burners by the International since the YRC escapades have consumed all of their focus. Hopefully at some point things might get back to normal and happen at a quicker pace.
