I'm with you there, Brother... Any bargaining strength that we could have ever hoped to of gained was thrown right out the window with that decision...

O.K. guys, I am really angry now! I was just on the IBT website and went to the freight blogwatch. There is a brand new article posted that in April, shareholders will vote to raise executive pay for ABF executives from 1 million annually to 3 million annually! What gives. We have all been lead to believe ABF cannot compete and is making no money but losing money. How can they afford to pay the big wigs more money then??? Sorry, I don't know how to get the article over here to this website. Just go to the IBT website, and click onto blog watch and then freight blog.

FREIGHT TEAMSTERS

Arkansas Best To Elect 3 Directors, Vote On Pay Plan
Shareholders of Arkansas Best Corp. of Fort Smith will elect three directors at the company's annual meeting April 22 and vote on a proposal to raise maximum executive pay from $1 million to $3 million annually.

Directors up for re-election to one-year terms are John W. Alden, retired vice chairman of United Parcel Service of America Inc. of Atlanta; Frank Edelstein, a consultant with Kelso & Co. Inc. of New York, a private equity investment company; and Bob Young, retired CEO of Arkansas Best.

The board approved the executive compensation plan Feb. 18, Arkansas Best said in its annual proxy statement filed with the federal Securities & Exchange Commission.

In 2009, the top five officials at Arkansas Best and their total compensation were Robert A. Davidson, who retired as Arkansas Best's president and CEO on Dec. 31, $1.7 million; Wesley Kemp, COO and president of Arkansas Best Freight, the company's main subsidiary, $904,000; Roy M. Slagle, senior VP of Arkansas Best subsidiary ABF Freight System Inc. $619,000; Senior VP Christopher D. Baltz, $586,000; and Judy McReynolds, the company's CFO who succeeded Davidson as CEO on Jan. 1, $554,000.

The annual meeting will be held at the corporate headquarters in Fort Smith.

Not so much doom and gloom on the Executive side now is there? This is what I have been saying all along. We drive the trucks and we move the freight across the docks. And they want to cut our pay so our families are the one's doing the suffering. Not mine I care to much about them to see others enjoying greater wealth at their expense. let's make money and stop this BULLS**T. YOUR NOT GIVING BACK BROTHER ALWAYS!

There is a time to hold em' and a time to fold em'. With the news of the mucky mucks receiving a 2 million dollar bump I would bet my life on a pair of deuces that these pukes are cooking the books. Now with that being said...When the IBT approached us with the hint of a concession at YRC so many months ago the first thing I asked the BA was "which set of books did they show the IBT?" I have spent the better part of my life working for this company and being lied to daily. Come off record profit years into contract negotiations and the place is going broke? The money went somewhere and if you brothers and sisters at ABF dig around enough you will find it.....Stuck way down deep in their pockets! Your suspicious brother 222lifer.

222, You are so right my friend way too many ways to get the numbers you want to file or show. Like I told the mgr and The regional VP we have a record breaking year and then all of a sudden they buy new equiptment or terminals and who paid for this but us the workers. And they still think ABF's profit share plan they they want is the way to go. I don't need to own the lug nut off of that new tractor, doesn't feed the family.

Our company has the ability to move money back in forth between ABF & ABC corps. They are all housed in the same building at the fort. Also there is Datatronics in the same building. Who is also owned by ABC. ABF has been the money maker, now they need a little help. I do not think it needs to come from me.
