Default Teamsters To Start Negotiations With ABF Thursday, April 8

Here it comes ladies and gentlemen. The IBT is clearly going against the majority of the ABF teamsters and entering concession talks with the company

If I'm wrong and most of the ABF teamsters are for this, then so be it. I won't like it at all but I will accept it. But I really believe that this is not the case. I love the union but a good union man will not just stand there and watch when he thinks that he is being manipulated. They had these talks planned even before the conference call!

I am still sputtering. Which locals approved this? Everything I have heard is that there is no way we accept this. Now is Tyson trying to sell out ABF like he did to OHFL. Please stop his pay checks.

Let me say that I'm no friend of Hoffa & Co. But in their defense the IBT does have an obligation to pass along to the members the company's request for relief from the NMFA. And after going over ABF's books they should give us their recommendation as to whether we should accept or reject ABF's request.

But I do not agree with these so called negotiations. We already have a contract negotiated by the IBT & TMI. If ABF really needs relief then just give us the facts and tell us what they actually need and we will vote on it. Why chance negotiating away more than we have to?
