Had our "woe is me" meeting today. First "story board" he pulled out, the numbers didn't jive. Shows a loss of 100 million since end of 08. Projection line shows "out of cash" SCARY RED LINE in October of 2010. Only problem is they stated a projected loss of 10 mil. per month (which was only 7 mil. per month in first qtr) would only be a loss of 60 mil. by oct, and if they only lose 7 mil. per month, that's only 42 mil. 125mil minus 42 is still 83 mil. still in the bank. AND THAT IS IF THE ECONOMY DOES NOT GET BETTER.

When I pointed this out, he did not have an answer, but sad he would get me an answer. I am holding my breath.

They posted some BS at my place today. I came in called the hall and told them that if it was not removed immediately I would call the labor board and the DOL. The TM called me and asked what the problem was. I said that remark about the IBT said ABF would lose 10 million a month in 2010 was a non factual statement and that the IBT was not a company of CPAs and auditors. And therefore it was a false statement and if it was true all the things he posted I wanted the IBT and a company representative to sign everything showing that they would take responsibility for it. He REMOVED IT ON THE SPOT! Remember if it is not signed it will more than likely be a LIE. YOUR BROTHER ALWAYS!

If you are holding your breath, you are already passed out, but I will ask anyway. Have you turned purple yet?

Well we had James W. Keenan, Vice President of Sales. I guess that we don't rank that high on the vote tally sheet down here. I'll tell you one thing though,if he is bull****ting the customers to try and get their business as he did us today,no wonder he a gloomy outlook. It was so obvious that his speech was rehearsed. He double talked, wouldn't give you a straight answer and in my opinion outright lied. He had to answer atleast 5 questions with "I don't know,I can't see into the future" and once with " I don't have a crystal ball". The guy that was with him could hold up them graphs pretty good though....lol

Dayton has A.J. Phillips visiting on Friday 4/30....with the sr. payroll executive.

On monday Mr. Robert A. Young, Wes Kemp, and Judy McRenyolds will be visiting us, with a total of about 15 meetings starting at 630 am and running til 7pm..

A.J. spoke to us today and he is a very good speaker, and seemed very sincere, BUT I am still checking the NO box, as well as a large majority of my teamster brothers in Dayton.

Quotes "Don't listen to the rumors that you hear, listen to the facts and do whats best for your family"

"There is no Plan B" what kind of sensible business man has no plan B?

My opinion is that the company is scared.. why else would they be flying Robert Young and company to 5 of the largest terminals in 5 days next week? They know that the consensus is a NO and the will try to persuade all of you to agree to this....let the ball licking begin~!
