    Default Meeting With The Bosses

When asked of Robert Young III what will happen if we vote this THING down he responded "Then we will have to go to the New York banks and borrow money from them."
Most of us at the South Chicago terminal are of the same like mind. Let them go to the banks and get the money that they need. ABF has a "BILLION DOLLAR CREDIT LINE" with the banks. They are buying new tractors and new trailers and then telling us that they are losing money. I can understand why. Especially when you see the money going down the drain like it is at South Chicago.
They will ask people to go home early AND if they would like overtime ON THE SAME SHIFT!!!. Let's look at that for a moment. Ask guys to go home on a "CC" and then have people there working four hours on overtime. What business school did these managers go to.
ABF has empty trailers sitting all over the system but we have to replace them with new ones so they can sit there empty too
They are asking us for 15% of our GROSS income. That's way too much for the average worker to give up. For me that's about $7400. For the average ABF Executive or Teamster Officer that's chump change when they're making in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS PER YEAR.
Don't forget folks that "It's always easier to negotiate someone elses money away when it's not yours":nutkick
Make them spend their own money before they ask us for ourssee this flag? Now you know who I am.

But it is easier for them to sit in their million dollar trailers in Fart Schmitt drinking YOOHOO's and laughing about how they screwed a bunch of dum truckers out of their helping of hamburger helper. Did you see that morrie shlammon and blinker riding away from the dock in that minivan after they got thrown off the dock laughing all the way to the shop to force feed some road drivers and mechanics their helping of BS. They really made an impression to all that saw, kind of like, yeah can you believe that they might have bought this BS. Disturbing at best. VOTE NO.

Thank you, thank you very much.

We had our meeting Thursday, there were a lot of charts shown at the meeting. We were told ABF is now 26 million in debt. I said that ABF is here asking for 15%, but we have two new trailers outside built in the last 30 days. If we were doing that bad why not push the purchase of equipment back. I also ask why include in a wage concession package appendix I, about the purchase of a non union company. I was told it only talked about the election of officers. I told him to read the Memorandum again. We were also told if ABF had the concessions in place last year the lost would have only been 25 million. Its funny to me that someone could sit there and tell me its better to loose my money than the companies.

I asked this question to Wes...Why not borrow money from us teamsters at zero interest instead of the banks? He kept talking all away around the question, so I asked it again....and again...and finally he said that will not happen....(at least an honest answer)

and to the asking guys to leave early and 1 hour later asking guys to stay over 2 or 4 hours on the same shift, I thought that the idiots running 064 was the only ones that did that

    ty for the input
