    Default Question on making seniority.

I am currently working casual for you guys.(Another YRC casualty)But anyway here's my question. If i get my 15 punches in 30 days as per contract but its in two different barns and two different locals does it still count? Both stewards were not sure.I read the contract and i know what it says but there is no language on this in there.IMO i think it should count because it's one company. In all my years in this racket i never ran across this issue.Any help would be appreciated.

Does 15 punches in 30 days put you on the seniority list? In the NY NJ area supplement we have a 75 punch casual period & then a 25 punch probation period. So it takes 100 days to make the list with your seniority date being on your 76th punch.

I doubt that days worked at 2 different barns can be combined. At least not in our area.

Years back, I worked for Preston, and when I first started,I was in Local 330, then due to a bean counters decision, I was forced to transfer to a L705 terminal. Had to start my 30 days all over again.

It reads you must work 15 days in a calendar month to become a probationary employee. And then you must work 96 hours in any given calender month providing you worked the 1st and 30th of that month and then you will have made seniority.Your seniority date becomes the first day you started probation.that's what my supplement reads. My question is again. Why can't the 15 days be counted at any barn so i could start my probation time at the primary location were i started?

We have to put in 100 working days to make the list. That is then our seniority date...But once ya get to 70 or 75 days no other casuals can be brought in before you..

I think your punches would have to be in the same barn. What seniority list would they put you on because you can't be on both. You can only hold seniority at one location.

Has to be the same barn in our area, I ran in to the same problem when I was trying to make the list.

That sucks! Thanks for the replies guys.I'm kinda between a rock and hard place because between the two barns i am getting a full week in.Well at least my H&W and pension are being paid.I checked out the vacation roster and from now untill September there's going to be at least three men on vacation every week this will be my best shot for making my numbers.Time will tell. And then i can tell YRC to kiss my azz!
