    Default something to chew

Heard from a way up person yesterday that ABF hopes YRC will make it because they feel that it will help us in the long run. Putting the pension & H&W aside he felt that having another major brand union carrier hauling freight would keep the major shippers with us. He thought that eventually the nons would have to raise their rates. Drivers are getting harder to find and if they want to keep them they will have to pay. When they can no longer service the account they will go where it can. This will take a little time. He feels it will be about another 18 month turnaround. So far he hasn't been to far off. I hope a lot of people can hold out/find something before we see it come back.

Kgee, I too have always thought it would not be a good idea for ABF to be the only union freight company left standing. And I would not want to see all of our union brothers and sisters at YRC be out of work! YRC seems to be making progress so lets hope for them they are on the road to recovery.

Here in SLC we have teamed with ABF on a few deals. They have taken a couple of accounts from us also. All in all I don't see them trying to cut YRC's throat. That would be a huge mistake.
