    Default IBT's contract proposal

    ABF

    The union's economic proposals:

A two-year contract, which would align the expiration with that of YRC
$1 per hour wage hike in each year
Maintain present level of pension and health and welfare benefits
Add two holidays, Martin Luther King Day and Veterans Day
Shorten the wage progression to two years
Raise the pay for dock casuals to 70% of scale

The company is certain to oppose all of these demands, and to put forward concessionary demands, and to propose a long-term contract.
    Stay tuned..

looks like here are some of the beginnings here for people to read. The union is asking for a two year contract to get us back together with the YRC companies date but that is one thing I don't see happening along with several other proposals.

Two sticking points, let's hope not! Union should be a brick wall when it comes to these.
    *A two-year contract, which would align the expiration with that of YRC;
*..a ban on the use of GPS or "black box" technology for discipline.
    Huh???
There's NO plan to counter the company's propaganda, and NO plan for a positive union program to inform and unify freight Teamsters.
On second thought, all hope is lost!
Also not mentioned was the pre-bargaining concession of 65¢ per hour in benefit contributions given to ABF in the West:
Giving concessions before bargaining even starts is at-odds with the positive demands that the International union has committed to bargaining for.
    Awesome!!!
The Hoffa administration's policy is to keep members in the dark, which weakens our unity and bargaining power.

Hey guy's I would vote no right off the bat. I don't like the two year part, why would we want to put ourselves in the same boat with YRC in 2015. YRC will be looking for more concessions in 2015 with big baloon payments coming due. The YRC teamsters out number us 4 to 1 and could vote yes, even with all ABF teamsters voting no we would still loose. ABF may or may not be looking for the same types of concessions as YRC so why put us in that fight. ABF could also be forced to sign a me too agreement forcing us to take deep concessions.

Yrc isn't going to get :P:P:P:P on the next contract. Vote now if you want, leave the mfa. But don't crawl back ever. We either restart the mfa or may as well leave the teamsters.

I thought we were under separate contracts..How could possibly the YRC votes be counted against you?? Unless of course there are some words left out of your contract that no one knows about..

I agree with truxforever that voting for a two year contract would put them in serious problems for a new NMFA in 2015..With ABF at top scale and YRC still at the minus 15% scale there would be some serious problems to start. And any one from YRC that still believes in that snapback crap the IBT fed us,I have some Christmas eggnog for you that you can leave on the mantel for Santa Clause..

ABF is not in as bad a shape as YRC is money wise. I don't think that teamsters here will vote to take big concessions. If we sign a 5 year contract with little or no concessions you guys could sign a me too in 2015. If you think YRC will not be looking for concessions in 2015 with millions in payments due you have already lost. I didn't say leave the NMFA, did you guys think of the effects of voting for three rounds of concessions on the NMFA. This maybe the only way the teamsters at YRC get somethings back. If we are all put together in 2015 and YRC is looking for concessions with a 4 to 1 advantage in voting teamsters, what happens to us at ABF. The teamsters at ABF could be forced to take concessions even if we all voted no with the 4 to 1 advantage at YRC.

The NMFA agreement as it was once known is a thing of the past. All one had to do was look when UPS Freight was joining the teamsters and put under a contract of their own and that was the beginning right there
