I think most non union companies operate in the 80's?

But then again, I really don't know what I am even talking about?
Howdy always said during his propaganda meetings that you add 10 points to any non union outfit because it cost him that much for us out of touch Teamsters.

see. now don't you feel bad that you didn't go along with what he wanted? All he was trying to do was cut out some of our benefits because he often said it was a handicap. he was paying us $24,000 a year in benfits and the non unions were only paying $8,000. Geeez, greedy people! Seems like in his mind all we teamsters want is more more more. He'll never get us down in the 80's like that? And that in turn cuts into his 3.8 million dollar bonus every year.

well, that's the impression one gets, but if you were to meet him, he's a very nice guy. At the last safety dinner I went to, he shook my hand and said he was happy to meet me. I'm sure he was sincere? Shortly after that, he got on stage and talked about safety issues for about 6 minutes and used the rest of the time to discuss non union benefits. At a "safety" dinner, right before contract time. But he was happy to meet me and even asked my name. I'm sure if I called him today he'd remember me.
