When we are finished organizing them in So Cal, maybe the Bakersfield Local will take it to them in the Central Valley.

Does anyone know how many Kenan locations are union? Or if any Don E. Keith Facilities are?

Sadly, very little, if any. Very anti-unioin carrier, who acquires other non's to gain market share.

Re: Kenan Advantage Group Inc. has purchased Don E. Keith Transportation
KAG is the "JB HUNT " version of fuel haulers..They will never be organized, not here in California nor anywhere else. Teamster fuel haulers are going away here in Southern California such as Chevron company drivers. Chevron drivers in Montebello have already been told they will be replaced by Pacific Tank Lines within 90 days..ARCO drivers in South Gate already endure non union carriers at their racks and pretty much any excuse is used to get rid of the union company drivers. Other oil companies such as Mobil, long ago replaced their union drivers with "contract drivers" from such temporary agencies as MTS driver recruiters. The trucks say Exxon-Mobil on the doors, but the drivers do not work for Exxon-Mobil per-se. Unocal, Texaco, Shell, all gone and replaced by non union, low wage private carriers, all without a peep from the IBT..So, don't hold your breath waiting for KAG to be organized. It's no wonder why all the fuel tankers keep rolling over and burning the last couple years. They hire anyone, throw them in a truck with 9200 gallons of fuel and cut them loose on a busy freeway, all while paying them "incentive pay"...When I hauled fuel a few years ago, it was amazing all the Scully's I saw ripped out of the racks driven by exhausted drivers..The worst was KAG...Saw an ad for Cox Petroleum Transportation the other day.."Train in Bakersfield at $50 a DAY"....These people can't be for real..

Cryotruck, Schneider National is now doing gasoline work in the Chicago area. It's a race to the bottom for tankhaul nationwide.
Schneider National used to have a unionized chemical division, near Chicago, however I think they are down to two Union drivers. Not too mention Union Chemical is virtually non-existant here, only two companies Ashland, and Great Lakes, maybe 30-40 members? Ironically, Great Lakes owns a non-union gas hauler, GLS, who primarily replaced the union Shell drivers. GLS is union in Detroit.
Good job, Steve & Steve.Last edited by WestCoast; 05-13-2010 at 05:09 PM.
