There's always such a huge difference between a 1st contract and one with a company that's been signatory for many years. Some of the new ones - mine included - just dont have much in them. Many times I'm here at work and all the Locals are closed, like last Monday. We only get 8 pd holidays, I read about people with 11 or twelve and know that they have a much older contract. New contracts today are much different than they were when we had 2million members. I know the conditions the non union competitors up the road work under and I'm very happy to work under my raggedyass contract.

I'm happy with the union, just not my situation and feel as a paying member I deserve more for what is being paid for. Your sarcasm is hilarious, you should be a comedian. If you paid any attention to what I had written you would have seen that I was with THIS company for 7 months and had been a PAYING member for well over that. I have HIP, as for mored indepth info, I would have to look into it to see. What are you talking about "conservative is exile"?

I completely agree. My old employer had their contract for 10 years and had it was bulletproof, that is why at this point I feel let down.

hya new here and this thread caught my eye. i know it was posted 4 weeks ago but hey....
if your rep/ steward isnt doing what they should for you find out who is one step above him/her and ask them what you can do. cuz if your rep isnt doing the job then what is this rep doing??????
