Default Im Sad at whats happening

Just got through reading our Teamster magazine and there was nothing in there about Freight. I work for Holland and was hoping to have some kind of news how the Teamsters continue to help us against YRC. From everything I hear, our pensions arent being paid by YRC and I dont see anyone from the IBT doing anything about it. I feel Teamsters were made from freight and truck drivers. Im very glad to see we have expanded to other industries but with 40,000 jobs on the line with the YRC companies, shouldnt we have at least had a paragraph of how we are being helped? Freight people are upset and I see why.

I see you're Local 710. Are you going to make it to the meeting tomorrow? Maybe some news would be forthcoming there.
    In solidarity, Hondo

You won't read about it in the teamster mag. But you would read a lot about how the IBT is helping by reading it on Teamstersonline.com. The IBT does not want to lose their best customer. Now do they?

No they don't but given current economic times it's a crap shoot on if they will or not.

As far as Teamster Pension Fund is concerned YRC is too big to fail and what ever it takes to keep it rollin. They had talks with YRC to confirm prob but never heard anything about it. Worst case scenario? Some members may have to work an extra year or longer to qualify

Things could be worse, but thats still a heavy price to pay. I would like to see one corporate scumbag work an extra year or more for their agreed upon over compensation.

    Well there it is...

Hmmmmm, I pictured the worst case scenario much darker than that
