It is slavery of a more traditional sort that extorts half of our incomes to pay, like slaves of old, for the privilege of serving and supporting our master's regime.

Like I said, it's just a political lever used to get votes and money.
P.S....that was over 20 years ago when I was a member and presto!....no guns taken away yet.

Same here. Used to be a member, but all they did was cry wolf and ask for money. So, I dropped out. I believe in responsible gun ownership. If you are irresponsible, you shouldn't be allowed to own a gun legally, wait:hmmmm criminals don't usually follow laws, do they? Well all responsible people should own at least one firearm(no one really needs more than 2 guns, you only have 2 hands). That should be the next gun law passed.

Re: Gun Rights
I just recently got my FOID card. In the paper everyday I see more break ins, home invasions etc. I dont want to be one of those dads that show up with a baseball bat against 2 gang banger punkers packing. I dont want to be tied up watching them beat my wife and kids or worse.
Now that I got that off my chest, whats a good handgun for a beginner but something that will put someone down without possibly going through walls at the same time. I dont want to get a shotgun at this point. Thanks.

Sig 229 .40cal, with magsafe .40 ammo. The bullets are made from a resign that shatters when it strikes a hard object, but is devastating to flesh and has knock down stopping power. But a shotgun is the best all around weapon.

A quote from Adolf Hitler, 1935
"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future."

The best self defense weapon in my opinion is a shotgun. A short barreled riot shotgun to be more specific. Load it with #8's or #9's. A beginner with a handgun would be lucky to hit the wall behind whatever you are shooting at in the heated moment. A beginner with a shotgun on the other hand.....8"s or 9's will not penetrate two sheets of wallboard so you are less likely to shoot through a wall and injure someone on the other side. Now for the "put someone down" question....At 10 to 15 feet the shotgun would cut someone in half.

Yes that's it. I used to have one called a "streetsweeper" or something like that.. Or maybe it was called an exterminator...It was legal though. A short shotgun bought in a regular store or sporting goods store..It's gone now. Good riddance. I'd be in more danger if my wife had access to it than anybody else.

The US made Streetsweeper version of the Striker shotgun, with 18" elongated barrel to comply with US firearms laws
