Re: Gun Rights
Red,
A Mossberg 500 like the SPECIAL PURPOSE SHOTGUN - 500® TACTICAL CRUISER® - 6 SHOT comes with an 18 1/2 inch legal barrel and a pistol grip. It's great for home defense. Here is a link to check it out...... O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc. - Firearms, Shotguns, Rifles, Accessories, and Precision Machining
If you want to carry a concealed pistol there are many choices and a few good ones have already been mentioned here.

Actually that isn't the one...I remembber it vaguely. It was early 90's brand new then.. I think it was a Mossberg, close to what these 500's look like...a pistol grip and I'm not sure but I think it held 4 shells. I think the box had a nickname or something for it. I thought it began with an e. Like exterminator or something.. I'm not sure but it wasn't that streetsweeper..I was looking into those back then though.

Re: Gun Rights
Look into a Springfield XD.

I carry the .45 ACP and i'm thrilled with it. It is very highly accurate and does not jam. I have shot reloads through it many of times and never jammed once. A .45 is a great round, I do not like 9mms for home defense at all. It is extremely difficult to conceal a shotgun so if your looking for concealment this would be a good choice.
They run about $500 but worth every penny I could not be happier.

You brought up streetsweeper, I found the picture!
Didn't say anything about having it in the house, however only I know for sure. Try coming in uninvited in the middle of the night, then you will find out for sure!
If you want to find out come on doooowwnn!

Taurus makes a 5 shot revolver called the JUDGE .It shoots five 45 cal. long colt bullets or five .410 shotgun shells. You can also get the Magnum moder. It shoots 3" .410 shotgun shells. At close range it really ROCKS!!

I wasn't saying you was the nutnick....I had something like it, minus the big friggin can....but I had my reasons. Somethin' like it anyways..Don't fall in love with Motorcycle cub presidents ex's and ya don't need one of those. I didn't even live in the guy's state but felt it was necessary. When that was done the guns were gone too...I don't need them anymore..

O.K., in THAT situation I could see having a gun in every room including the bathroom! I didn't think anything would change my view, but in that one instance, I'd call it justified.

Re: Gun Rights
How many of you guys open carry? (meaning to carry it unconcealed, where it is publicly visible in a holster).
I never for any reason open carry, I believe the State of Indiana law doesn't specify it has to be concealed because I have seen people open carrying. But I believe the element of surprise should always be in your favor. You never want to show someone what you have. I rarely go out in public without being armed and have only had one instance so far that made me very glad I was armed at the time.
I recommend anyone owning a firearm for the first time to take a gun safety class. They are offered at most gun shops or ranges.
