Default Stocks rebound on US data

Let's hope this continues. Such confusing signals. On one hand you here data saying we are heading into another recession and then you hear things like this. Am I the only one that is confused?

The Institute for Supply Management's manufacturing index for September rose to 51.6 from 50.6 in August. Economists expected the ISM index to slide to 50.5, according to Thomson Reuters.

The Department of Commerce said construction spending rose 1.4% in August compared with a decline of 1.3% in July. Economists had expected to see a 0.5% dip in spending.

Wifeypoo your header is misleading because when I click the link what I read is this,

Stocks waver on US data, Greek debt
Manufacturing activity and construction spending rise unexpectedly. Global markets tumble as Greece says it will miss its deficit reduction targets. Gold spikes.

    This doesn't sound so hopeful

Stocks accelerated losses Friday to lose more than 2% as bleak economic data overseas spurred fears of a global slowdown. All three major U.S. indexes lost more than 10% during the third quarter -- making it their worst since the 2008, at the start of the financial crisis.

What this tells me is that all those talking heads up on Wall Street (the financiers, stock brokers and the reporters of same) don't have the first clue as to what's going on, either...

Greece's debts are projected to reach 172.7 percent of gross domestic product in 2012 while the deficit will drop to 6.8 percent, above the 6.5 percent originally agreed with international bailout creditors.

So there is no confusion (apparently there was for one person) this is a financial link on MSN that is constantly updated. If the title of the thread is misleading, that is because stocks change all day long. That was cut and pasted to this site.
