    The net loss was $2.02 billion, compared with a profit of $2.64 billion a year earlier, New York-based Verizon said today..." "...The pretax charge for a pension-plan revaluation was $3.4 billion.

    How convienient for them to blame it on the pension! I wonder if they paid the pension first and then corporate salaries and bonuses they would blame the loss on the later.
