I NEED to quit smoking. I cant walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded. Gonna try the patch today - right after I run out of smokes!! Then I 'm gonna work on the extra 60lbs I carry in my midsection. If I could just get back down to 275 I have a whole closet full of 38W pants and 2XL shirts I can wear again.

You should try that new med. on the market, "Chaintix.", have to check the spelling. Most prescription plans won't cover it. I have a bottle upstairs, had my dentist prescribe it. Expensive, like $300 for the whole program, but it's supposed to be the most effective?

Sheeeet. They give me 2 big bottles a month now. I've graduated upward.

Next visit, I'm asking for hydromorphine.

Me? More organizing. Internal is at the top of my list. Reading some of the posts here I see that I need to educate our members better than I have in the past. This I will do. The days of the "Old School" way that officers treat member is long past, we have to use the "New School" way. Teach our members why there are Union and have them spread the word. Give companies what they fear most.... An educated Union Member.

The leadership just rolls their eyes, "There's Gambino, singing the same tune again". As long as the dues don't stop coming in, they're content.
That's why I try to give them a little history, even from the Locals history. Next meeting ask them to find out about the 2.5 days of Steward training that Chicago gave 65 of there 95 Stewards. Put them up at a resort and with there spouses. That might start some fun. Time to stir the pot some.

If they have not given any training in the past, then they can't remove you for lack of it. In the shop, I would file a past practice grievance. But I am a trouble maker.
