ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Unless Congress acts, New Mexico driver's licenses won't be an acceptable form of identification at airports starting in the mid-January.
The Real ID Act deadline is looming, and now Albuquerque police said the consequences of it could affect high-profile cases.

Some state leaders said the federal government won't recognize any New Mexico driver's licenses come Jan. 15 if the state keeps giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.
