Re: Tax Rebate $600 for single people, $1200 for couples, plus $300 each child
this is just like a union busting company when its people try to organize, the company will sweet talk the people and bribe them with a bonus or in this case tax rebate just to make themselves look like good guys, but in the long run they the people end up paying for it 10 times over and they are still in the same situation they where in before....I know my rebate wont go to help the economy it will be going to pay off the credit card.

So far Bush has been wrong most all of the time so if he says spend it. Well ol' Snortin Nortin is gonna put it in savings.. Don't these fools in D.C. understand Its ENERGY stupid... Most people have had the cost of gasoline practically go up and escalate into the equivalant of an extra car payment each month in reall dollars out of pocket. That is why people are losing their homes at a record pace why nobody is buying squat, shoot if they could have afforded an extra car they woulda had one before gas got rediculous.Your gasoline bill is not supposed to be more than your car payment or even close..

well said SN. I'm now spending $250 a month on gas for my pickup and thats just driving back and forth to work. I tried trading it in for something more economical but used truck values are way down because new ones are not selling. The dealer was only gonna give me $12,500 for a vehicle with a book value of over $18000

This rebate check is about as useful as a fart in a wetsuit.

Re: Tax Rebate $600 for single people, $1200 for couples, plus $300 each child
The wife and I have two Ford Focus's an 07 and an 08 they get around 33 to 39 mpg. We had a Hyundai and sold that in November. Both of these cars cost less than 12k a piece. When we looking for the first I told her this year "We Buy American".. That was in August, after making the Hyundai my car I started feeling guilty driving Korean made goods although it was a great car had it 8 years and put 83,000 miles on it, so I went looking and brought home my '08. Sold the 2000 model foriegner to a dad of a 16 year old for $1900, a fair price after all isn't America supposed to work like that. I buy a new Ford (American auto) and sell my old car at fair price to a neighbor kid as a first vehicle,, except next time the "newcomer gets a used American Made auto"..
Hey "W" I am trying to be a one man "recession cracker" here and you are keeping the rest of the country down..
