    Default McTaxes: You're Payin' It

McDonald’s and other Fast Food chains have taken over $7 Billion of your tax money, and are using it to ensure full-time employees live in poverty.

Even the mega-corporation-friendly Bloomberg Businessweek admits it’s a problem: [Things] might have been fine when those behind the counter were mostly teenagers living at home. These days, though, 68 percent of fast-food workers are single or married adults who aren’t in school—and 26 percent are raising children.

Does Mcd's pay them or the franchise owners? I wonder how that works. As far as i know they are all franchises. I worked at Dominos years ago and think it was actually a check in Dominos name. But i know it was a franchisee and the owner was local. I wonder who sets the pay, the corporation or the franchise owner. Either way both make out on the cheap wages and no bennies.

McDonalds own budget program proves workers can’t survive on their low wages.

McDonalds and Visa sponsored a budget program to help low wage workers better manage their money. However, the budget either automatically assumed that the worker would have two jobs or they would have a partner who made just about the same. If a worker gets paid $7.72/ hr. (Higher than current minimum wage), 40 hours a week, they would make $1,105 a month. In 2012, the average rent in the United States was $1,048. Doing the math that would leave about 57 dollars for everything else. This is clearly preposterous.

Here’s a sample budget from the Atlantic article that broke the McDonalds budget program story.
