Default I Looked Up The Fastest-Growing Jobs In America, And Boy Was It Depressing

This really is depressing! Not all medical fields were mentioned. Unfortunately the one my daughter is going to school for is not on the list.

Each year, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects which occupations it expects will see the greatest growth in the next few years.

The results you get depend on whether you're looking at absolute or percentage growth. But, as I discovered, both tell depressing stories.

First, on a rate basis, there's basically only one sector in the economy in which labor demand is growing at a steady clip: health and medical (21 out of 30 of the occupations listed in the table below are in this field).

Besides that, you can maybe get away with some construction stuff.
And even if the jobs are growing in certain categories, it doesn't mean the pay is. Look at trucking on the chart.

Be what you want to be? Not if you can't find a job in what you like doing.

I think many people are including myself. Problem is it does not mean better pay, only a "job."

keep moving forward, one step at a time, don't settle.

Sometimes you just have to relocate and do it before you go broke defending your position.

I posted where Fruit of the Loom was closing it's doors. The effect on the county is almost a 1/3 will lose their job and a loss of $200,000 in tax revenue for the city and other effects. Bottom line is the future of Russel County is bad. Those who sit down and collect Unemployment Insurance will have a bleak future and may never recover. Those that get out there and look for a new job in neighboring counties or move will fare the best compared to those that sit back and collect.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Believe it or not, a place exists where companies are hiring like crazy, and you can make $15 an hour serving tacos, $25 an hour waiting tables and $80,000 a year driving trucks.

As I have told you before, we have already relocated twice and with husband having his great job at ABF, we are not going anywhere. I am just going to go down new avenues. I don't have to work, I choose to do something.

OK, but not everyone can just pick up and move to find another job. It is a huge expense to do that. We have talked about this before. Not the answer for everyone looking for a job.

What Strappy is failing to disclose is the fact that those are boomtown wages. The cost of living is high. Finding a suitable place to live is tough too. Unless you don't mind living in one of the mobile homes that FEMA condemned.
