    Default Killer Coal

I was reading about the latest Coal Mine Disaster and got to wandering just how much death per year is caused by Coal, billions have been spent on lobbying for death, some here have blasted the Green Energy movement for cost and subsidies. In China where miners die at unprecedented rates,300,000 directly related to mining and exposure it's appears their cost benefit ratio is of no concern, trapped miners in Chile became celebrity's for surviving, imagine only 590 deaths were attributed to wind and solar but that's too expensive...

At least 238 miners dead, more than 100 trapped in Turkish coal mine | Fox News

Chile Mining Accident (2010) - The New York Times - NYTimes.com

How Deadly Is Your Kilowatt? We Rank The Killer Energy Sources - Forbes

For coal, oil and biomass, it is carbon particulates resulting from burning that cause upper respiratory distress, kind of a second-hand black lung. Our lungs just don’t like burnt carbonaceous particulates, whether from coal or wood or manure or pellets or cigarettes. The actual numbers of deaths in China from coal use exceeded 300,000 last year since they have ramped up coal so fast in the last decade and they usually do not install exhaust scrubbers. The impact on their health care system has been significant in not just deaths, but in non-lethal health effects and lost days of work.

    Energy Source Mortality Rate (deaths/trillionkWhr)

Coal – global average 170,000 (50% global electricity)

    Coal – China 280,000 (75% China’s electricity)

    Coal – U.S. 15,000 (44% U.S. electricity)

Oil 36,000 (36% of energy, 8% of electricity)

Natural Gas 4,000 (20% global electricity)

    Biofuel/Biomass 24,000 (21% global energy)

    Solar (rooftop) 440 (< 1% global electricity)

    Wind 150 (~ 1% global electricity)

Hydro – global average 1,400 (15% global electricity)

    Nuclear – global average 90 (17% global electricity w/Chern&Fukush)

Once again, mine it safely. Eliminate the pollution. Not a tall order at all. Unless it will affect your lifestyle Mr Big Business?

Coal is being destroyed before there is a replacement. Natural Gas is under attack, Fracking. You would be a fool to invest in any of this.
    America destroyed from within.

The destruction of America will only come from the radical right wing.

Kill or be killed that is the question,we can keep burning cheap plentiful coal, costing hundreds of thousands of lives, destroy our planet in the process and generate huge profits for some,we are using a technology dating back to cavemen, burning something to generate heat, energy?,got to believe in the 21st Century the human race is much smarter than our ancestors but appears were not sadly....

I already showed you how China has outpaced us in pollution this is not counting India

I guess that 3.6% will cover the coal loss

FRANCE WARNS: 500 DAYS LEFT TO SAVE CLIMATE
You only have 500 days to convince the world to stop
You are going to have to pay for the coming Carbon Tax that will be redistributed to the world.

You can't seem to understand one point.
Use clean burn technology to eliminate or lower polluting emissions.
Nobody has said coal, as an energy source, must stop.
Just clean the emissions from those plants.

In 2012 89 % of fossil fuel spending on campaigns went to Republicans, now that's explains a lot.

Coal money in politics - SourceWatch

As of September 2012, total fossil fuel spending on campaign spending has exceeded $153 million. Republicans received 89 percent of the coal industry’s campaign contributions. Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), chair of the Energy and Commerce committee, has received $60,000 from both major utilities and the coal industry. Another sponsor, Rep. David McKinley (R-WV), is the top recipient of coal cash for 2012, receiving over $200,000. The coal industry has also funded a “public awareness” campaign on pro-coal TV ads, arguing the Obama Administration is waging a "war on coal." The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity has so spent $12 million of its promised $40 million election-year budget on ads this cycle.[1]

“conservative group that often dictates bills to Republican statehouses and receives financing from the utility industry and fossil-fuel producers, including the Kochs … [who] see solar and wind energy as a long-term threat to their businesses.”
