Default CB RADIOS... What do you run?

I don't run one in my work truck--

But I am an avid CBer in my spare time..

    I have a Connex 4300hp, (80w model)--with an original RK56 mic in my car..

I am planning on upgrading BIG TIME

I have to upgrade my electrical system to power it, but when i'm done, I will be able to push a 2500H Bird slug far in the corner..

Stryker 490HP radio, with the Connex 4300HP as a spare (both are 80w radios)-- original RoadKing 56b mic
    MagnaForce 400 driver amp (4x2290)
X Force or FatBoy 12 pill (ran on 17 volts)
X Force or FatBoy 400 amp motormaul
2x Deka 8d industrial batteries in trunk
    Rg-217/u Nemal coax (Military-spec)
Predator 10k superstud antenna mount (lug connection)
Predator 10k single coil antenna (22" shaft/for trunklid)

    What'cha think?

I run a Uniden 66, it's tweaked and peaked to about 30 watts. I run an Astatic Noise Cancelling Mic. I run Wilson coaxial cable. I run a Francis 5 foot fiberglass antenna on the pass. side tilted forward to spear the birds and avoid lower obstacles. I also go as Snowflake when I am causing a scene. You won't catch me on 19, I never turn the dial away from 33- that's where all the shoe's hang out.

I used to run a Galaxy DX 73 V. I liked the big radio and echo, but I guess I just got bored with it. Maybe someday I will get back into it. Then I will buy a Connex 4300 HP, and get to walking in the tall grass again.

That is a real good "everyday" setup..

A Uniden 66 is a real nice radio. Everything you need, and nothing you don't...

The Francis antenna gets out pretty good, and you don't need to set it at all.

What did you do with the Galaxy 73v?? You still got it?

Yeah, I don't mind it. It's an older radio the new ones are called 68's. The Galaxy 73 is riding around in Oak Creek, WI in the Oak Creek Power Plant in one of the Teamster driven dump trucks on that project.
