Default Re: Hurricane Maria And Puerto Rico

The Island continues to suffer from Mother Natures effects.
I remember when I visited after hurricane Maria, we saw police from all over the country, including New Jersey State Troopers, in a marked New Jersey car. We knew they came to help. Now they have done it again.

‘This is family to us.’ N.J. state troopers deploy to Puerto Rico.
New Jersey troopers left for Puerto Rico Saturday, just hours after another earthquake hit the island.
“Puerto Rico needs us and it needs you,” Gov. Phil Murphy told more than 30 troopers gathered at a Newark police station, shortly before they drove to the airport.
“These are Americans who are in desperate need of help,” he said. “This is family to us."
Murphy announced Tuesday that troopers would spend about two weeks helping protect thousands of displaced residents in the Ponce region. Seven troopers flew to San Juan Wednesday to prepare, and a total of 50 will eventually deploy.
The troopers will arrive at their final destination early Sunday morning, a spokesperson said. They’ll be sworn in on the island and work with full police powers.
Puerto Ricans have been U.S. citizens for more than a century, and a mutual aid agreement called the Emergency Management Assistant Compact allows states and territories to share resources after disasters. Callahan said New Jersey was the first to respond to a call for help.

There's been a problem down there this week...a warehouse was broken into where the government either forgot about or hid supplies. Some story said guillotines were being taken to the governor's house.
Hopefully those cops aren't being dragged into some kind of civil type war down there.

There's other sites...I randomly picked this one just as a brief type post.
