A lot of people don't like the Priests. They dislike the concept of celibacy which is the rule. They don't have a family or have a wife or kids so what do they know? What they have done isfollowed a spiritual rule which Christ layed out. He preached to leave everything and follow Him. That is what they do. They leave the opportunity to have a wife and family. They leave it all. Just as they were told. The Protestants don't do it. Therefore their spirituality is bound to be weaker imo. They are not granted all the things a Priest is granted because they do not leave it all. They hold on to some of it. They still marry. They still have children. They do not leave it all and follow as told. "Spiritual' people love 'spiritual' rules such as laid out by Hinduism or Buddhism...such as Karma and such.....but for some reason they blatantly fight spiritual rules such as what I just said about Priests. ..There's spiritual rules. and the Priests follow them. as far as leaving everything.
We may think they know nothing because maybe they are pompous or not too smart or some may have authoritative personality or whatever flaws humans can have.......but spiritually they are granted certain powers that no other people are, or can be, granted...such as absolving sins.....they are the only ones on the planet actually granted that power because they have done what it takes to have that power or grace.....nobody else can have it. It is a spiritual rule.

Due to the couple’s religious beliefs, Sarah Mitchell received no prenatal care. Without the benefit of an ultrasound, the couple did not know they were having twins or that the children were at risk.

The church, which believes in a literal interpretation of the Bible and shuns modern medicine, is rooted in the 19th-century Pentecostal movement, the Associated Press reported. The branch in Oregon was founded by Sarah Mitchell’s grandfather.

It seems to me that people's beliefs in the bible are mainly based on other people's interpretations. How can anyone let their baby die based on what someone supposedly chiseled on a piece of stone centuries ago?

2631, your post brought up a memory I had not thought about in many years. It just seems really weird now. When I was six my brother was born. As an infant he got the Asian flu. He was extremely ill. We lived in a duplex with my Great grandma next door and she had a visitor that I seem to remember as being 7th day Adventist (that may be wrong because I worked at a 7th Day Adventist hospital so obviously they believe in doctors). Whatever her faith was, she kept telling my G grandma my parents could not take my brother to the doctor. So then my G grandma was pressuring my parents not to take him to the doctor so as not to offend her friend which was really strange for my grandma. I remember my brother being so ill. Throwing up continually and my mom being scared which made me very scared. Finally my parents put their foot down and took him to the doctor. I really don't remember how many days this went on as I was a small child myself but how horrible is this? I would like to know where in the bible it says people cannot get care from a doctor, that God will cure everything?

    Scientific vs. scriptural spin

Is definitive scientific theory actually definitive? Not really. Contrary to the dogma of modern theory (aka: best guess), evolutionists are currently backpedalling, scrambling and/or generally doing a classic hair-pull nutter at the latest scientific discovery that explodes the assumption that mankind is a billion years old.

Say what? Human beings didn’t develop randomly out of primordial ooze? Rising spectacularly against the odds to create order from chaos like nothing else? Well, no. Much like science has blown the myth that a developing child is merely a blob of cells – something our troglodytic ancestors shockingly accepted – a current study published in the journal Human Evolution is shaking the foundations of evolutionist presumptions.

Let's look at this radical right wing source of unfettered garbage posted by the resident purveyor of conspiracy crap.
WND (originally an initialism for WorldNetDaily, or as it was affectionately known to its fans as WingNutDaily or WhirledNutDaily) is a far-right website. The site espouses a fundamentalist, Christian, creationist worldview with a healthy dose of jingoism, and its coverage provides multiple sides of issues: the very conservative viewpoint and the ultra-conservative viewpoint. WND makes Fox News look positively moonbatty in comparison.
While they present themselves as news, WND is basically a tabloid for radical right-wingers.
The above explains the torrent of hate filled conspiracy crap that flows on a daily basis from the gullible. Most people with any intelligence understand the difference between truth and fairness and the conspiracy filled diatribes we witness on a daily basis from our resident hater.

So Strappy, are you one of those creationist people? I had a neighbor that was one and man he used to take every opportunity to tell me I belonged to the church of the devil. He was always bringing me literature about the evils of the Catholic church. Funny thing is I never discussed his church with him. I hate when people do that "force your beliefs down my throat" stuff.

He was correct. As with all Churches they are made from the rules of man. The confusion comes from the Liar, the Devil.

I hate when people do that "force your beliefs down my throat" stuff.
Yet that is all you hear in the Church of man

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served what has been created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.

And what has it really done for anybody? Made some money for sure.
Humanae Vitae (July 25, 1968) | Paul VI
Released 10days from now in 1968. And where have we gone since then?
I saw a flier hanging about the first links movie today.
Ya might hate them....but the Church and Popes are right on everything more than they have been wrong on a few......and the things they are right on hurt a hell of a lot more people than the things they are wrong on. A world of people, generation after generation after generation.
