Where is the Irish spirit that used to be so obvious on this site? This guy's music always gives me a good laugh.

Yes, these guys are Scottish and they recently showed up on my FB and I am hooked. But I think most of us that are part Irish are part Scottish too. Close enough!

No music to post, but I came across this article while reading this morning.
Brought back memories and thoughts of the beautiful countryside.
I have said it before. My favorite area is the west coast of Ireland. The "Wild Atlantic Way" as it's called.

This story is about an area I visited.

Framed by its mighty Cliffs of Moher, the Burren region of western Ireland is a wonder of lunar landscapes, megalithic monuments, and beautiful botany. The 205-square-mile UNESCO Global Geopark is one of the only places in the world where arctic, alpine, and Mediterranean plants grow side by side. The name “Burren” derives from the Irish Gaelic for “stony place,” and the dramatic rocky setting has captivated creatives from Tolkien to Spielberg.

This is my picture from a visit to the Burren area, or the Poulnabrone dolmen tomb. One of many in Ireland. The area itself is a rocky field. This tomb dates back to 2900BC, or older.

I have large numbers of family members from Derry, Ireland, which is the northwestern coast. Interestingly some had English names, some had Scottish names, but if you study the history of that part of Ireland it all makes sense. Bucket list.

    Here’s an Irish saying

May you be at the gates of heaven an hour before the devil knows you’re dead!
