    Default Saturday Night Live

December-1975...This was the first year and the 7th episode ever of the original SNL...It still ranks as one of the best ever skits on SNL...It was as groundbreaking as it was funny, and as the writer of the skit so aptly stated...''There was no putting the genie back in the bottle''...It was real...It was honest...It was what was going on in the streets of America...And the ''Live'' audience loved it...Listen to their laughter...It was all in fun...No one was offended...It was a comedy skit and it put SNL on the national stage...Now,45 years later, what do you think would happen if that skit was aired today?...Can you imagine the blowback?...The Not Ready for Prime Time Players cast of SNL in those early years were some of the best comedians ever assembled...IMO...Belushi,Aykroyd,Murray,Radner,Ch ase,Morris,Newman...They were funny, they had fun,and they didn't give ''2 chits'' what anybody thought of them...

I think back then they were finally brave enough to discuss and show how stupid racist people looked (All in The Family did that too). I interpret that as making Chevy Chase look like an idiot racist. Now I think it would be looked at as somehow making it look ok and acceptable the way Chevy Chase speaks to him because everyone gets their panties in a wad so easily now.
