    Default World class museums

Since the stay at home orders, some of us can get a little tired of TV and the endless commercials.
I decided to post a link to a museum that interests me, and one that has a particular interest, which is automobile related.
Of course there are racing museums that will find it's way into this thread, but my first visit will be to Stuttgart Germany, for the Mercedes-Benz museum.
A chance to see the first Motor-Wagen, and everything else throughout the history of Daimler, Benz and Maybach, is educational and informative.

Please add someplace you've been,or a place that may have an interest for any of us. The list is endless.

Here are 2 of the obvious ones in the City that we've been to so many times through the years...They both really are special museums to visit...Fascinating and Educational every time we visit them...The Museum of Modern Art...and the Museum of Natural History...They both are quite an experience to remember...

When we can get back to traveling, this place is close for many of us on the east coast.
Thinking of taking the scenic cruise up the coast of Maine ? Seafood shacks on the side of the road. Small quaint towns looking over the ocean. And from my perspective, a hidden gem of a museum that actually brings their displays outside and runs them. From old steam engines, to bi-planes and race cars too. That would be the museums yearly "Wings and Wheels Spectacular".
Located north of Portland, just off old US Rt. 1., the town of Owls Head is host to this museum.

This place has always been a favorite of mine. I have mentioned my love for aeronautics and all things that fly. This is just one ( of many ) museums in Washington DC that should be visited in your lifetime.

Today we travel down south, to Birmingham Alabama.
This is a private motorcycle and motorsports museum and race track.
    It's on my bucket list.

So far I have been keeping all my picks in the wheels and wings arena. This one isn't any different.
Wiz has added a couple of "art" museums, of which there are many all across the US.
Doesn't anybody have an interesting museum they have visited or in their area ?
    Post them up !

Today is Florida's Kennedy Space Center. Not to be confused with NASA Houston Space Center museum.

Let's head to Pennsylvania. This is a small, yet large museum. Across the street is a scenic railroad that provides rides on an old steam train with period correct cars.
It's always a good time to visit the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Afterward a ride on that steam train and some local snacks, like a whoopie pie.

Let's head over the west coast. This famous museum is in the heart of Los Angles. The Peterson Automotive Museum is a stand out, not just for the exhibits, but the architectural design of the building.
Here is a youtube tour of the underground portion of the museum. Followed by a link to the main web site.

Planes trains and automobiles ! What a great theme.
Now into the heartland of Indiana. Home of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. Housed in the original company showroom. Classic elegance and beauty.
