Default DHL busting unions

Here in Chicago we’re coming down to our last bid. We will then know the final number of drivers we will have left.
Just about every day some of the supervisors will pull a new (ridiculously low) number out of there a##, in order to scare us.
Meanwhile, they will pull senior drivers (who are certain to make the bid) off there routes. Put them down in the Loop, or where they haven’t been in 30 years, when there are drivers who know and do that area. The reasoning for this is to pit driver against driver.
They will also look on the camera to see who does not have the proper uniform on, and then tell the supervisors to correct us. Even though we have been submitting orders for uniforms for the last two and a half years (at the JLH station) and haven’t got any.

they're also talking about keeping Chi because of the commute for the people that have to go to Indiana and back is too far and the pm drivers aren't getting back until 10 pm and that holds up the plane. Was told we sent out 2 full planes on thursday.

I work for DHL canada and we are going through same stuff they pulled off in USA. New French president came in to negociations said we are losing money make the proper cuts or we will pull the pin in Canada. They want to drop the weight and lower stop pay.and close all small depo"s and cut all rural routes. And we were supposed to have broken even last year. They cut everyone job;s yet they are still sponsoring the Kalitta Funny Car in the NHRA PRIORITIES

On Monday Feb. 9th myself and another driver were sent out to deliver some dock stops. When we arrived at our first stop in Elk Grove Village (part of the Chicago metropolitan area), we realized it was a DHL global logistics warehouse that neither of us knew existed.
We ask the (non-union) temp worker what they did and he told us they receive and hold computer parts for companies and then use (non-union Fed Ex) to deliver them.

Mean while my last day is Friday the 13th, after 18 years of loyal service at Airborne/DHL.

I have worked for DHL in St. Louis for 21 years and was laid-off Friday Feb.13th. I have written a letter to Ken Allen, the new DHL Express US CEO, which has gone unanswered. I believe the individual station managers are responsible for the driver cuts, due to decreased volume of freight but also they want to get rid of as many drivers as possible to save on the benefits contributed to them so as to increase their bonuses by saving labor costs. They are foolish!!!!! Spending a thousand dollars to save a hundred at the expense of the customer not getting their freight delivered or picked up in the timely manner they have paid for!!!!!!!!!!

Psychdup

This is how our modern management and businesses work these days. Individual station managers and even upper management couldn’t care less about the long-term interests of their companies (or their employees). They will embrace programs policies and procedures that will gain for them as much as they can get as fast as they can get it. Regardless, if it is not in their companies interest. Nor do they care how many other people will be affected. They couldn’t care less.
