Default sign off at dhl

This company is throwing Teamsters out into the steets with out any pressure at all from the IBT. Dhl is still making billions of dollars both in the USA and overseas, this should be some kind of a crime. In reading TEAMSTER magazine that in 2008 we had 43,000 new members join, that's good news, but if we are losing thounsands of members to practices likethe one dhl is using that news is really not that good.I've been a proud TEAMSTER for 17 years and trying to stay that way,but with things like this happening its tough.

I was called back to work 8 days ago and then I had to go for a stress test at the hospital today. When I got home there was a message from a sup saying not to come in this week. I put a call in to my steward and now waiting for him to call me back with some answers. He didn't know about it, I was the last one called back. I wonder why since they put 8 of 9 10%'s on days this week to cover vacations.

That’s upsetting I’m not far behind you Tenpin, I was hoping to be called back soon. I’m sure DHL is negotiating and will try to have us come back as part-timers (I even heard split-shifters). It is too close to the April 1st contract deadline. All we can do is vote on the contract and I hope our Teamster brother and sisters in our local are on the same page. Also, I like to know if you where the only told not to come in.

Yes, I was the only one which is even more strange. The steward called me back and he put a call in to the BA and he was unaware they did this too. He'll be in contract talks all week with these guys, so he'll find out and let us know. They're screwing with my unemployment.

I need to check the lotto #'s.
