Recall rights
Hi, I use to work at a glue factory in Mount Vernon New York,in which I did a variety of jobs. While I don't want to get into the logistics now,I was laid off. 2 Questions:
1. My company got a new contract on March 15,2010 with Local 210 of the teamsters. How many years do the recalls last, I didn't receive the new contract but when I asked my rep he said they do not expire. Is this true?
2. Also does anyone know any businesses that are teamster affiliated in Westchester County New York? My rep didn't give me much advise, I not sure if he does know or not.
POWER TO THE WORKING CLASS.

Re: Recall rights
Recall rights are usually negotiated in your contract, or if there is a MOU (memorandum of understanding). For the NMFA it is 5 years, but since the MOU with YRCW Teamsters it is 10 years.
Recall rights that never expire is real strange to me, but it might be. Your contract will have the concrete information.

Re: Recall rights
Most contracts do have language which address the length of recall rights.
Perhaps a trip to your Local may get u a chance to view your contract, or asking your steward how the recall language reads.
