Default Rigged: Forced into debt. Worked past exhaustion. Left with nothing.

I remember when I first started posting about the saga of these drivers, a member on this site criticized my posts and these drivers because they were immigrants. Hoffa was trying to organize the drivers and the member had something very rude to say about it. So tell me, does anyone on this site still think this kind of treatment is acceptable? I am all for Hoffa getting these guys organized. My son-n-law was a port driver in northern CA and had the benefit of being a teamster. And I sometimes think that those drivers who have only been a teamster and never had to work without a union have no idea what it is like to be a driver without a union. Well, my household does know what it is like.

Los Angeles — Samuel Talavera Jr. did everything his bosses asked.

Most days, the trucker would drive more than 16 hours straight hauling LG dishwashers and Kumho tires to warehouses around Los Angeles, on their way to retail stores nationwide.

He rarely went home to his family. At night, he crawled into the back of his cab and slept in the company parking lot.

For all of that, he took home as little as 67 cents a week.

Then, in October 2013, the truck he leased from his employer, QTS, broke down.

When Talavera could not afford repairs, the company fired him and seized the truck -- along with $78,000 he had paid towards owning it.

Talavera was a modern-day indentured servant. And there are hundreds, likely thousands more, still on the road, hauling containers for trucking companies that move goods for America’s most beloved retailers, from Costco to Target to Home Depot.

Legal immigrants should be treated as citizens, therefore all laws and organizing rights should be rcognized imo. I am getting older and somehow thought we were taught that this country is the highest standards in the world...I was taught with lies.

So many injustices have been done to so many different kinds of people that I have all but lost desire for this nation to go on as it has.....Civil ways are a sham for the rich and the banks....no different than in the countries that we were taught that we were better than.....I almost think the teachings on peaceful protesting are not gonna work...they never do here.....the banks and companies and extremely wealthy always get their way................what are a people to do who continuously get shafted...from trying to organaize to trying to get the pension they earned their whole working years....this nation treats its citizens like subhuman animals......and I'd almost think it right to say that one day these animals would be totally justified in acting like savages to get their fair share for their labors............we cannot keep being shafted and taken from and somehow think that this country is worth a shit...It isn't when this stuff happens everywhere all the time.

Another Excellent Post Slave...very Well Stated...''Taught with Lies''...Yes...The Game has been Rigged for Decades.

Capitalism is just another form of Feudalism that exists upon Wage Slavery and Mass Labor Subjugation via an Elitist Aristocracy that Rules for it's Own Benefits to all of OUR Detriment.

And there are still many who think Trump,or the Republicans, are the problem.

Nothing screams ''I am a clueless'' more than someone who thinks by resisting Trump will somehow change anything.

The Rich ''OWN'' our Government...falling for their BOGUS 2 Party Scam is what allows this Atrocity to occur.

USA Society has not changed since the end of the 19th Century. In a Capitalistic Society Marxist ideas are not un-common.What one sees now is what Marx ''PREDICTED''...More and More Concentration of Wealth in the Hands of Fewer and Fewer People.

    8 years of Reagan.
    4 years of GHW Bush.
    8 years of Clinton.
    8years of GW Bush
    8 years Obama

Democrats and Republican majorities in DC with their own party President.

One thing doesn't change under any of them.....the working class gets the shaft. No standards have been raised for union workers in all them Presidents and years....The politicians want our money and want our votes and do NOTHING for us.
The standards achieved from the 50's by the unions all go backwards......party is just a label to divide as to keep taking fom us and giving to our opposition, nonunions, corporations, and foreign powers and politicians....all benefitting the banks.

The way these drivers are treated is repulsive but although we have heard on how the Teamsters are trying to organize them my question would be where is the DOT?? How exactly do these companies continue to operate.. As soon as one company is shut down it seems two more start up.. The owners of these companies need to do some serious time in jail..
