I have been a Stern fan for years, but haven't heard his show since he went to satellite, and was using the expression before I knew he existed. I picked up "hey now" from one of my Army buddies, from Hartford Conn, that I was stationed with in 1971. I use it as "hello", "wow", "no sh-t", "she's got a great..."

As far as satellite goes, you been missing out on some radio platinum

When I was on the road for Rogers Cartage, I knew where to find Stern on the FM dial including stations in Canada. If I couldn't find Stern, I had another list of stations where I could pick up Bob & Tom. By the way, in 1971 when I was stationed in New York, Don Imus was the only show in town. He was pretty hot back then, but his ship has sailed/sunk.

Imus is on WABC in New york and many affiliate stations.also on cable He is a class act
