Re: Teamsters, do something besides post???
Being neutral on this subject, I think that when she refers to beneficial in this context, meaning opinions/ideas/debate, it's not nearly a reasonable comparison to pull out the most useless thread on the site.
Now, back to the useful heated exchange of ideas on the subject of delegates

Re: Teamsters, do something besides post. Run for delegate.
We could debate over who should lead our union all day long. My point is that I think we all have difficult decisions to make. I WOULD LOVE FOR THEIR TO BE A VIABLE CANDIDATE TO RUN AGAINST HOFFA!!!! I just don't like the options we have. Sandy should have put together a full slate. Her membership has done nothing but dwindle and her general fund has suffered as well. In the end, as of right now, those 3 things do not get her my vote. I can live to fight another day as it sits now but I am leary about putting someone in office with Sandy's track record.

Re: Teamsters, do something besides post. Run for delegate.
To me…this isn’t a debate on who should lead our union, it’s about who shouldn’t lead our union .If you’re waiting for someone to come along that’s perfect to run our union in order for you to want to change leaders, that day will never come. I have news for you…this world isn’t perfect and neither are any of us. All I’m saying is that what will it take for you to realize that the 12 years of Slim Jim didn’t accomplish much at all, if any? All he’s doing is pushing us backwards. The part of living to fight another is and will always be a weak argument to me. It’s just another way of admitting defeat. You say about Sandy’s record … what have you got to say about Slim Jim’s 12 years track record? Name them?

Live to fight another day.

I am getting sick and tired of hearing that!

Seems the another day never comes.
And fight, most don't even know what that is.
If those Teamsters before us had had that attitude our union would never have materialized!

Re: Teamsters, do something besides post. Run for delegate.
174 Member, I wish that we would have used your logic when James P Hoffa first ran for president of the IBT. His qualifications and track record were zero, he had none. He was elected only on his father's name and his failed promises. Pope or Gegare can't possibly do any worse than Hoffa & co. have done. Please list some or any of his accomplishments.

If Pope and Gegare both make it on the ballot, I predict they will split the anti-hoffa vote, giving hoffa a narrow victory. Not a majority, but a slim pathetic marginal win.
