    Default Lakeville Motor Express Closes

    https://teamster.org/news/2016/11/te...rs-unannounced

ROSEVILLE, Minn.) – Over 100 families in Minnesota and South Dakota are wondering how they are going to make ends meet after showing up to work yesterday morning at Lakeville Motor Express, a Roseville-based trucking company, only to find a sign on the door saying that the company had permanently closed.

“It didn’t close; the freight is still there, the trucks are still there and the customers are still there. All they did was change the logo on the trucks. Now they are saying they won’t even pay the employees for work they had already done or benefits that have been accrued and are owed,” said Teamsters Local 120 Business Agent Virgil Christoffersen, who represents roughly 90 employees who worked for Lakeville Motor Express.
May the owners choke to death on their turkey this year.

Where is General President Hoffa's response to this union busting shut down. In the old days he would at least vow to not rest until the Lakeville Motor Express Teamsters get justice.

I read about this from a Facebook post the other day. My question would be the the BA'sfrom the locals affected..Where were they when the owners of the company were siphoning off the freight to other company owned companies.. There is more to this story than is being told.. And yes another teamster trucking company gone during the overextended Hoffa regime.

Hoffa is responding in the same manner the million plus Teamster members responded during the election.

This stuff is wrong. Good find. Good to see somebody who can actually describe it all simply.
To me it shows that somehow our ability to join unions must change. We. Need our own Right-To-Work Union laws. We cannot rely on companies for our pay, benefits, seniirity, and political lobby. Another more permanent and effective way must be found for our own stabklity.
The individuals accountable for the bankruptcy will continue to acquire credit hiding in corporate cover.

While I shouldn't instigate anything due to the nature of this post being that some union brothers lost their jobs ... but I can't help wonder why it's seemly a white collar crime, or that the union hasn't responded, that incites some of us.
After all, we elected a new President that has circumvented the law to his advantage for decades.
What Lakeville Motor Express did, was within the current written laws. One terminal, under union representation, not the whole company. They certainly could shift work, equipment and other company owed resources as they see fit.
We watched as Consolidated Freightways opened another carrier to do the same exact job, with funds from the corporate parent. All within the laws.

Not sure how others feel about what I wrote, but 60 plus million people voted for a man that used laws to his advantage, to screw the working class and make his billions, and avoid paying taxes. ( I know I have paid taxes every year of my working life )
I think what LME has done is criminal. But it's more then likely within the law.

This, especially now, will be the state of workers law, safety and labor rights in this country.
The laws won't change, with Wilbur Ross as Commerce Sec., ( the bankruptcy King ) we will see a rise in the wealthy 1% of this world to dominate our everyday lives as we wither into slaves for the elite.

The swamp isn't draining ... it will be filled to epic proportions. The billionaires are circling the feeding pool as we speak.
    God help us all.
