Default Re-vote at new penn

Quote:

As you may know, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters is going to allow a re-vote of those members who work for New Penn Motor Express on the YRCW Job Security Plan. A meeting will be held on

Saturday, August 15th, 2009 at 8:00am

at the Union Hall,

656 Englewood Avenue, Buffalo

The purpose of the meeting is to listen to your issues and to make sure that every member at New Penn understands the pros and cons a YES or NO vote has.

The re-vote will NOT BE TAKEN at this meeting. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters will advise the Local as to how and when the re-vote will be taken.

EVERY MEMBER SHOULD MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND THIS IMPORTANT MEETING

I know many of you NewPenn Teamsters will not like this. Being told do vote yes in this way, but you know know what the plans are if you vote no again. This is just the cold hard facts of this matter. I personally would be really pissed off, but what do you do now? Vote yes? or vote no and become a YRC Teamster?

I Hate to say it, But YRC plans to merge New Penn into their system shortly. If you listened to the remarks made, YRC said if New Penn voted yes that they would leave them alone for now. What does that tell you? They're going to do it anyway.
Just like the initial ten percent wage reduction. They told us that's all they need to get by. Our teamster leaders told us that the pension or health and welfare wouldn't be attacked, BUT IT WAS. There's no stopping the YELLOW machine on what they will take next.
Enough is enough! My vote will remain the same as the hand writing is on the wall for New Penn and the future is short lived no matter how New Penn votes.
The Vote should stand as it is, like it or not. Our pensions should be paid to date and what happens is destiny. If we had any kind of representation from our leaders it would stand and they would be working for us instead of against us

I would not speak for everyone at NP, let me school you for a sec.....if YRC goes out of business do you realize that is 30,000 Teamsters out of work? Do you realize what that will do to the Teamsters? Do you realize what that would do to ALL Teamster LTL companies? Do you realize the power that would give Conway? Do you think an east coast regional carrier could put a national carrier out of business? Do you know the definition of a teamster

It is time for all teamsters to stand behind the Newpenn teamsters and stop the bull****.We voted no and clearly sent them a message, there was no plan B and now they will use the scare tactics to the best of their ability..Maybe YRC should be paying our union dues as they seem to protect them more than the membership...And as far as a COO goesI thought it had to be approved by the IBT I guess we all know where they stand

WTF is this, keep voting until the votes are what the company and the IBT want.

The current economic climate has been the "perfect storm" for CORPORATE AMERICA to rape and pillage the American worker, both union and non union.

Good luck to all my fellow Teamsters at New Penn and YRC. Irregardless of the outcome of the next vote, this is a no win situation for all Teamsters and the whole labor movement in general.

I have stood behing NP and all TEAMSTERS, I have never wished NP out of business, YOUR COWORKER WANTS TO PUT YRC OUT OF BUSINESS, read his thread. You want the IBT to stand by NP while some of you wish YRC out of business!!! Maybe Newpenn Teamsters should stand behind the YRC Teamsters!!!
