The 53 was fought against even by our corporate office. It was pushed by YRC. Now is the time when things start slowing and they start looking for things to hours may be cut......letters written. We're easing into that season .......I figure I'd show my idea on what is the biggest problem in our system. They got load bars to rack and stack the
bohemoths. It seems speed and keeping down damages WERE. priorities. The 53' with load bars to stack ontop of shows that volume is priority.

I don't see all the numbers nor claim.to know all about NP. But do know that 45' trailers kept damages down and freight flowing. Much easier/faster to find a piece of freight for a city driver in 45's unstacked than a 53 with load bars loaded on...keeps it all moving.
City guys leaving earlier with all freight IMO. Time left for pickups la

Sounds like somebody don't like 53`… I refused to go without one because I ain't skeered. I miss them and regret not being around for the longer trailers that will be coming out.

The few years I was on the dock at Newpenn I would say there was more freight damaged on the 53's than the 45's.. Newpenn back in the day were quick strips and Slave your right there was a whole less damage.. The way Newpenn is built for linehaul and a next day carrier IMO this was by far the worst decision they made.. Takes longer to build the outbound and takes longer to strip them.. With the turnover on the dock and the use of part timers it got a whole lot worse.. But when your dealing with the so called educated in management [we call them idiots] they will never admit they were wrong and find a new way to screw up the system.. I remember one day when I was running linehaul at Redstar I was sitting in Newark waiting for a Pittsburgh load and I sat there for three hours.. Why?? Because the load was ready at midnight but the former CEO Jones came by and said they weren't utilizing the racks in the 53's and made them reload it.. Had I known it at the time I probably would have refused it because they reloaded the trailer the way they were told to and all the weight was in the nose.. Didn't find that out till I got to Pittsburgh and they opened the trailer because they had something on it that a customer had to have.. Freight was a mess and as far as I know none of that freight went out for delivery that day..Stuff shirts don't know anything about freight other than it is boxes on a pallet..

It's a clot which involves time.......and when people get accused of "slowness".......there's no excuse for the accusation when "slowness" was the chosen SYSTEM". The 53 is that chosen system. Especially filled using load bars which are loaded on top of.

Next day freight was the specialty......Not rolling distribution centers.

One of Brad's many personal money making side deals was the selling of the damaged racks. That's why he had the dock crews triple stack those racks with heavy skids. Of course the racks would bend resulting in more damaged freight. But it's been rumored that he also had a side deal selling the missing trailer loads of OS&D that got lost in Newark's upper trailer yard. Wasn't he fired from Yellow before coming to USF for his shady side deals?

Maybe you could ask Trump to build another wall between our states........or maybe we could have PTO'S and big long dump box trailers.

I'm in a pup in my run but I see 53's all day, tight beach run with lots of tight turns & backing, IMO 53's are idiotic!!! Not just in my area but anywhere other than the open hwy.
