It's simple YRCW does whatever they want.
how long has yrc owned npme? why now after , what 4 yrs. would they make us interline with roadway? especially, when we were the only part of yrc that made a profit in 1st quarter. VA. is wilsons home state, and if you put the cost factor aside, i don't think roadway could make 2 day del. we get from wilson, in VA. or NC. on a day to day bases.everyone wants to do next day and 2 day, but easier said than done, on a night to night, week in and out, and on and on. i don't mean , maybe 1-5 customers you might have, you do next day or 2 day to, wer'e talking 95% of northeast freight next day, all the time, with the rest being appt. and 2 day lanes.we get consistant 2-3 day from wilson the same way, and have for over 16+ years.we can p/u in boston today, have it in camp hill sometime that night and loaded and leaveing camp hill by around noon, to even atlanta ga. that next day, late evening, stripped and put out for delivery on 2 day.even your utility guy isnt going to make truck loads of freight move like this on a daily bases. you handel freight to many times, have to much manpower doing to many steps of next day or 2 day delivers, to get it done night in and out. i'm not putting you down personally, but to even get close to us, you will all have to change the way you think and handel freight, have a sense of urgenticey moveing freight, from city,to dock, to road men.thats alot of change, and nobody likes change and alot like to fight it. and even more will say fu%* it. i'm sorry wilson isn't union, but we as a company are not selling union freight, we are selling next day basically in NE, 2-3 days rest of the south, and this is what we have been doing for over 20+yrs. we compete directly with every non-union low cost carrier in the N/E daily, npme has been a union carrier since it's inception 70+ yrs ago, the crap we do is the way it's always been here, they crap you will have to do to get this efficient, will be big changes, if you really want to interline with npme, and do the 2-3 day south freight. personally, i would love it to show non-unions carriers ,that even at higher cost factor, we can still compete and always out perform them.if you want the interline freight, step up to the plate, and do the deal, love to see roadway or yellow prove me wrong, but on the other hand just because were sister companys or teamsters, doesnt mean you should be intiteled to our freight if you cant make the service we are selling.
The UE man will make the service better and also cut cost for YRCW and loose a few big money road jobs. That is what the UE is all about.
all right all night you make some valid points but I beg to differ to a certain point. From Richmond eastward service could be done to what you guys do if the company wanted to. Basically I'm saying certain lanes into VA could be done but how far south isNPME southern most terminal.
