No. Stuff like this does not get out until it happens. Not days, weeks, months before. Just like when Yellow bought Roadway. Don't believe rumors they will run your mind ragged.

Yep, they usually wait to announce a shutdown, until the last minute. If a closing is announced too soon, many workers go off on Workers Comp., begin to job search, quit, etc., effectively bringing about a companies demise soon than anticipated. Especially so in trucking, historically it's always the last minute.
I was at Preston, literally just punched in, when they shut down. No warning, just a shutdown notice.
i agree with all the other guys who say "no". it's unfortunate that in these times of slow frt., a recession, and your guy's reorganization with Yellow's management that these rumors get started. we have a salesman who's in constant contact with Reddaway & Holland people and the one thing he's told is that Yellow's people are the ones that are ruining things over there but as far as a shut down, he also disagrees. according to him, the suits in the industry think very highly of USF. the problem is the overall recession and the slow reorganization.
