    Default Arrogance Cost $1.6 Million

Well our leaders arrogance to law has cost them about $1.62 million. Word started coming out this week about a class action lawsuit in LA County and the letters have started to go out to the parties. All of this because they shorted pay when drivers didn't take meals/breaks.

I know the TM in Portland was *rather* upset this morning. Don't know if this was the whole reason or not. Maybe with some luck we will see a memo about him "seeking other opportunities."

I downloaded some files from the LA Superior Court about the case if anyone wants to read them. Send me a PM with a address can take .PDF files, I won't charge you near as much as the court did.

I'm not an Oak Harbor employee but from everything I have been told the upper management is as bad as it gets. It seems the terminal level management here in Seattle has treated the teamster members pretty good since the strike ended. It is the owners and high level management that are trying to ruin peoples lives.

Well sure, if they can't be happy, then nobody can.
Speaking of happy, it breaks my heart when Matt isn't happy

And from the "You can't fix stupid" department...David V. was in Portland last week trying to pass out KoolAid. Somehow I always manage to "forget" to go to these meetings. One of the mechanics, who are non-union, told me that they were not getting their 10% back and their 401 (k) back. And if "you get sick, try not to got to the doctor as it cost us money" as since the strike the are self-insured. At first I just brushed the comment off then I heard it from two other sources that had been in different meetings. It was stated in the Union meeting today that one of the drivers filed a grievance about it.

These clowns just don't get it. And like I keep saying "You can't make this chit up."

Sure is odd that a required posting that is required by the NLRB is in Portland but not in Auburn. Well I'll be dipped. I just found the phone number for my contact at the NLRB.
