Default Back to the NLRB Board Again

The DC District Court has officially sent our case back to the NLRB.

I was digging around today and found that the order was signed on August 1. I would guess that we are close to hearing what they say in the very near future.

As a little background our case, in a round about way, landed in the Supreme Court. It ended getting tied to our great friends of labor Mitch McConnell and his band of do nothing friends in the lawsuit that was brought against the administration about Obama's recess appointment of board members to the NLRB. Noel Canning Co. In Yakima, WA was also involved in this.

I am going to put a call into the local on Monday and get his spin on this. Our next Union meeting I will be gone so maybe I can find out something.

Hopefully we might win the battle on the Oregon Teamsters Health which if it is found that OHFL illegally withdrew from they could be on the hook for something in the range of $10 million according to the Union. That should take the wind out if their sails.

I will say that the plan they gave us isn't too bad, but it isn't the Teamsters plan. Nothing galls those SOB's more than having to cut a check to the Teamsters. Which is why I drive 30 miles to the Teamsters Dental Clinic when I could drive a half mile to a local quack.

    Stay tuned....

I heard you guys finally got a raise, after what, 8 years or something. Any truth to that rumor?

Yes. It is hard to believe that David dropped his purse and a $1.77 per hour rolled out of it. Of course his rate for new hires puts them at a six year progression rate. And they wonder why no one comes knocking on the door for a job. So now our top wage is only slightly less than others start at.

Our contract expired on 10/2007 so the last raise would have been before that. I would have rather had that go into the pension...oh wait we don't have one any longer.

I suppose the Union could have filed a ULP on the raise issue, but it would have shot them in the foot.

On the other hand they have new posters up giving a $300 bonus for referring drivers but as far as I know no one hates their worst enemy that much.

For some reason the dumbasses that run our companies think a longer progression would help. You can't tell them anything because they know it all.

According to the latest paperwork filed with the NLRB the $10 million is now up to $17.2 million.

Dave will have to sell his yacht. And Ed will have trouble making his child support payment for his last, er, encounter.

I've never even heard of a Teamsters Dental Clinic. We're lucky to have first aid kits...LOL. Seriously, the Bradenton plant is large enough to justify a nurse and a cafeteria. Here at Fort Pierce, we have vending machines and first aid kits. For (God forbid) serious injuries there's ambulances or we get driven to the ER by supervision.

I think ( but I don't know ) he means a clinic that accepts the Teamsters dental insurance plan.
