Default First Vote by Unionized Fedex Freight drivers

copied from Bring The Teamsters to Fedex Freight FACEBOOK page

    News out of Stockton, CA

Today our fellow drivers in STK will have their say, and their vote counted. We are told today’s Stockton vote has brought in even those few that had previously voted against forming a union. This is a testament to this driver groups strength, solidarity and acceptance today.

FedEx agreed to settle all the charges pending against them for violations that accrued during the election campaign at the Stockton, CA facility.

In that settlement the judge asked that the Union be the deciding factor on what would be done for FedEx’s (highlighted above) part in what was seen as an attempt to coerce drivers into voting No.

The Teamsters have kept their word to those Drivers when they told them this was a democratic process and everything will be voted on and today their Business Agent Rob Nicewonger held a Vote at Teamsters Local 439 where ALL Driver Members present from the newly formed FedEx Freight Union in Stockton, CA would get a chance to vote.

    ***Here are the Unofficial Results:

*Count 1) All Bravo Zulu awards and associated cash bonuses awarded to any employees be redacted and returned.

-VOTE IS FOR DRIVERS TO KEEP THEIR AWARDS AND CASH BONUS.

FedEx awarded Bravo Zulu’s to drivers during the election campaign. Drivers testified that previously they had not heard of a bravo zulu award and also didn’t know of anyone to have received a Bravo Zulu award previously at Stockton, CA.

*Count 2) Reverse all accidents or incidents from employee safe driving records due to relaxing the requirements of our existing safe driver program.

VOTE IS FOR CHANGES TO SAY THE SAME.

Drivers report that during the campaign accidents or incidents where reviewed and removed for drivers. The rules and policy changes have and continue to benefit all now and into the future. Congratulations!

*Count 3) Take away all tools provided to employees to coerce them to vote against the Union, unless it would interfere with business operations.

VOTE IS TO KEEP ALL TOOLS.

We are talking about mall carts, pallet jack stops, new pallet jacks, purple work gloves. Things they had been asking for and where denied all of a sudden where supplied. These “tools” continue to be of benefit to all.

*Count 4) Redact all changes to safety policies made at the Stockton Facility regarding which types of accidents and injuries count against an employee's 25 year safety truck award.

VOTE IS TO KEEP ALL CHANGES.

During the election they made it easier to get a safety truck by changing what is considered an accident and what is deemed an incidents and even allowing for old chargeable accidents now seen as incidents to be removed and changed.

*Count 5) Give back all safety trucks and cash bonuses awarded to drivers due to changes in or liberalization of the existing 25 years of safe driving and 10 years accident-free programs of the Employer.

THE VOTE IS FOR THE DRIVERS TO KEEP THE $5,000 25 years safe driving bonus and 25 year safe driving truck.

The DRIVERS in question have a combined 70 years of service, and the feeling amongst the drivers was they had been previously cheated out of the award in question. Co-workers testified they had previously on numerous occasions pleaded to safety managers and regional managers about these drivers being unfairly disqualified and nothing was done.

But when the Anti Union Management apology tour came to Stockton, CA Co-workers pleas were heard and the disqualifying marks in these drivers safety files where overturned. FedEx Managers then announced the Safe driving truck awards to the drivers by hosting a endless serving of tri-tip BBQ with all the fixing. The Safety bonus checks of $5000 each where announced with a HUGE cake and even a photo op with CEO Mike Ducker who was in attendance.

Well again the drivers seen right through the corporate bribe and lies of good faith with a 74% YES vote to form a Union.

A victory on all counts by the FedEx Freight Stockton Drivers.

These drivers stayed strong and saw right through Corporate’s numerous attempts to corrupt the vote.

The driving group in Stockton, Ca will continue to enjoy all the positive changes that came from FedEx’s over the top and expensive anti-union campaign.

Sure they could have easily turned on their fellow co-workers and ask that they pay back the money and give back the trucks to Corporate but instead showed resolve, solidarity and voted for Unity. They showed today that forming a Union is about joining together for what’s in the best interest of every driver. What is good for one is good for all.

WELL PLAYED STOCKTON, CA DRIVERS … well played.

The FedEx anti-campaign seeks to divide us and fight amongst ourselves. They foster division, animosity, hate, and bitterness but they got none of that accomplished in Stockton, Ca as they not only voted unanimously to form a Union but also turned in a vote that was unanimously in favor of what is in the best interest of their fellow Member Drivers.
