Congratulations wraith! I wish you the best, and I hope the members get behind you and support you and the contract. So many times the members don't like the way a situation goes down, even if it is contractual. They want the contract to be just about "me".

As a steward in good standing with the members and the local, I share this: Know the contract, if you have questions call the hall, wrong info will lose member's trust in you. Talk to your members, let them share their imput and concerns about their working condictions. Learn their personalities as well as the personalities of the supervisors. You don't have to like or be liked by supervisors to learn what to expect from them. Keep the members first: work to protect their jobs and working condictions. You are a leader and a servant to your members: Never show favortism or allow supervisors to become too close as to influence your representation of your membership! I LOVE MY SHOP STEWARD JOB!
