We recently had a driver fired up here after he tipped truck over in a ditch,No one was hurt, the driver was coming over crest of hill and had to turn kind of quickly, he said a deer ran in front of him. when asking the tow truck driver on what happened, he stated want my version or the drivers, apparently skid marks for couple hundred feet, so we know he was driving to fast . This driver has been told by just about everyother driver to slow down, he never listened, he has been involved in couple other accidents, one was a backing accident this one didnt even get on the books, other one he rearended a car, and now this accident. This driver was one of those guys who would go out with double the stops of the normal route driver and get it done is same amount of time,( ala skipping break, speeding, skipping stops)

but because his numbers were management friendly he got by with this various accidents. I hate to see a guy get fired but this guy has had it coming for awhile, although while they were investigating the accident they had him work or preload for part of the week, and then last thursday after he finished his preload shift they fired him, it was his birthday too..

. We have one other guy in our center like this (he has also had several accidents, high $ ones to) and he is still around, hopefully this scares him enough to realize, that little brown box aint worth it. I put this accident on the shoulder of our management team to for letting it go on(unsafe driving) for so long..
Also on another note we had a 25 yr driver, differnt driver from the one above, get pulled off his extended route and given a warning letter for not "working at directed", the on car sup. wanted the driver to drive faster on gravel roads, when driver asked for supervisors request in writing, the supervisor refused and driver stayed at same speed, half hour later manager came and pulled him off route. this was 2 weeks before the roll over accident. driver did fight warning letter, not sure what came of it.
