the lastest "we have nothing to complain about so we will find something" item i would like to mention is the other day our supervisor made a fellow worker take off a teamster pin he had on. No big deal, he did and I told him he would be able to wear it the next day once I contacted the BA and showed the supervisor where it says in the contract that we can wear these pins, no big deal,, but apparently years ago UPS and our local had this issue arise and the case was actually brought to civil court where UPS won the case, This post could actually be titled WTF. I cant believe that UPS and our local spent, I am guessing, thousands of dollars in court fees over a pin. And I am wondering how UPS won this case when its in our contract that we can wear them.. And of course since UPS won this case if this disagreement ever comes up like it did a few weeks ago UPS will jump on the chance to rub it in our faces.. reminds me of the scene on animal house or on the twisted sister video.
is that a pledge pin on your uniform!
That's mighty fishy when UPS wins when the rules say you're allowed to. We get away with a lot of pins that cause a ruckus. Most days I'm glad I'm not a victim of the UPS gestapo

I can't believe how a boss comes to work every day looking for a reason to mess with the very person that is going to put food on his table and feed his family by driving a truck or working the dock. I have been in this business a long time and I can tell everyone not one shipment can move unless WE the TEAMSTERS do it. I WORK OUT OF cLEVELAND OHIO we do not allow our boss's to treat us in this manner. WE would make him pay.
Not to go off the topic: Did you ever happen to see that story on 60 minutes a few years back on a Army war veteran living in a subdivision and he constructed a flagpole in his yard and flew a large American flag from it. The Home Owners Association told him he had to take down the flagpole because it was an eyesore. They threatened to take possession of his home if he didn't remove the flag and flagpole.
Here is my thoughts on that: I think there are way to many people in this country that don't pay enough respect to our veterans. I think this man served in the Armed forces defending our country against our enemies and he should be treated with respect. No one should ever be able to tell you how to show your patriotism. I do believe that proper flag etiquette should be shown in all circumstances.
