    Default $7-a-gallon gas

President Obama has a solution to the Gulf oil spill: $7-a-gallon gas.

That's a Harvard University study's estimate of the per-gallon price of the president's global-warming agenda. And Obama made clear this week that this agenda is a part of his plan for addressing the Gulf mess.

So what does global-warming legislation have to do with the oil spill?

Good question, because such measures wouldn't do a thing to clean up the oil or fix the problems that led to the leak.

The answer can be found in Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's now-famous words, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste -- and what I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before."

Don't come crying to me. you think your jobs are going to be good at 7 a gal.
Maybe you can get a 40,000 electric car the can get you to the store. Who knows if or what resale value it might have.

Since we can't have coal fired power plants, or (horrors!) nuclear power plants, how will we charge all the electric cars the greenies want us to buy?
Oh , I get it.... now we're back to the bicycle option....that's why we're spending 1.2 billion on bike paths.

I am all for the bike path idea. I will go to Washington and personally lobby for it on behahalf of the trucking industry. I could sell this easily. Just look how many idiots it could remove from our highways. They can all crash into each other on the bike path.

The creation of jobs would be the main reason for the bike paths would it not? The environmental and health benefits are important also. Reducing emmissions and getting some exercise is not a bad thing at all.

I have noticed a great deal more people riding bikes since the roads around here have been widened with a bike lane.

And do you remember King George's famous words when gas was already hitting $4+ in some markets? Here let you remind you.
"Wait, what did you just say?" the president interrupted. "You're predicting $4-a-gallon gasoline?"

Maer responded: "A number of analysts are predicting $4-a-gallon gasoline."

Bush's rejoinder: "Oh, yeah? That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." Politics | $4-a-gallon gas? Predictions surprise Bush | Seattle Times Newspaper
Here is a little video clip of the great buffoon saying it in case you don't believe what you read.

This situation doesn't happen for everyone but if they have the option it is very beneficial and they should seriously take a look.

One of my brothers lives just about that far from the terminal. He traveled from his home to the TRAX (light rail) station by bike. He road the TRAX to down town SLC. Then got on his bike and rode the 4 or 5 miles to the terminal.

No additional time added to his commute, his stress level when arriving at work was low. The transportation savings for him was tremendous. The health benefits were right there in front of all of us to see. He dropped weight, and had more energy.
