In a big boost to union activists, the White House on Wednesday night threatened to veto a major Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill should it include a provision that would alter the way rail or aviation workers can unionize.

President Barack Obama would veto sweeping aviation legislation if Republicans in Congress succeed in gutting a rule favorable to airline and railroad union organizing, the White House said on Wednesday.

I think this is the same bill that would make it even harder to organize Fed Ex.

Rep. Steven LaTourette (R-Ohio) will sponsor an amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization bill that, if passed, would strike back at his party’s efforts to limit union organizing at airline and railway companies.

So.... what's the status on this bill? Did he veto, did they tie it up in committee or did it get lost during the budget fiasco?

It probably got lost. Like so many of the other labor freindly issues.

Yeah , they talk a big game around election time, but that's about it.

I have given up on our president to do anything to help unions. The very people that helped get him elected are the ones he is leaving behind now. I am completely digusted with the whole situation. No one is looking out for the working man anymore.
