I am sick of the far right and the stupid rhetoric that corporate America will help the working class if we give them more !

Should Big Oil Corporations Pay Their Income Taxes? 61 Senators Vote No. | That's My Congress
I'm challenging the followers of the American politcal right to PROVE that tax cuts, as we've seen under Bush 43, Reagan and the others, have created the multitude of jobs that they claimed will occur? Or is it just economic swings? Otherwise, can we please put that issue to rest as "busted"?

And regardless of whether Big Oil pays its taxes or not, one thing is sure. With billions in profits, one thing they DON'T need is a government subsidy. The claimis that it helps keep the prices down. But how much profit, then, is too much? Why should the American consumer, who is struggling just to make ends meet, subsidize corporations that make billions in profit (not revenue, mind you - profit. The money left over once all the bills, wages, and everything else has been paid)? Personally I don't feel like making some rich guy that much richer. Like Bean said elsewhere, once the basics are covered, what else do you need? He meant it as a rationale for businesses to pay as little as possible (!?!? From a Teamster!?!), but it can be argued in reverse as well.

America, are limits to what we think other people have achieved??? Warren Buffet a player from the Left made 280 million in 1 day from Bank of America deal. Are there Limits?, should we confiscate his wealth??

Give us Cheap Oil and get Gov out of our way before we are a third world country.
The world not just America suffers from this Economy. We Lead the world. For now.

When the Gov makes rules the people change the way the move the money.
If you tax me I will move my money to safe investments. If you free me I will invest back into the economy.

Gov never has created anything it just consumes.

A "player from the Left" (who, by the way, happened to call for more taxation on the rich) benefitted when he bailed out BofA. Gasp!! He's calling for "confiscation" on his own. No, it should be more of a mindset to care for one's countrymen. Instead it's become a free-for-all with no rules and damn the consequences. We're already heading toward third-world status thanks to American businesses not valuing their homeland more than the Almighty Dollar...all they want is cheap labor. That's one of the reasons anti-union legislation has become so prevalent. So poor and middle-class Americans should lose their homes, cars, whatever wealth they've managed to accumulate so that businesses and the already-rich should get richer? You call this an American value?

And like most GOP/TPers, no thought is given to what happens when we run out of oil...and we will. Maybe not this century, but eventually. And let's even suppose THAT won't happen. Do we really want our descendants to live in a polluted world? Where only the rich can afford clean water and air? Because that, in the long-term, is what the right is advocating....consume, consume, consume, with NO thought for tomorrow.

It's all what the businesses want, in the end. They buy the politicians, who legislate what the corporations want. And it should be what the American people - ALL of them, not just one side or the other - want, and from there what the people around the world want. I'll change my mind when you can show me that nice, clean pristine world we can migrate to (hint - there isn't one, and there's no "USS Enterprise"-type starship that could take us if there was)...in the meantime, were going to HAVE to take care of this one. Simple fact, though of course that escapes the right as well.

Taxation on the Rich. Only WORKING People pay an Income Tax. People like Warren only pay minimal since his money is invested. It's the man who owns a Small Business that Pays.

Kerry and Heinz paid an effective federal income tax rate of 12%. Hmmmm

On July 23, 2010, the Boston Herald reported that Kerry berthed his new $7M yacht in Rhode Island, which had repealed its “Boat Sales and Use Tax.”

Sen. John Kerry, who has repeatedly voted to raise taxes while in Congress, dodged a whopping six-figure state tax bill on his new multimillion-dollar yacht by mooring her in Newport, R.I.

The Fairtax.org would clear all this up

Bachmann visits NH, targets Obamacare | New Hampshire NEWS0605
Under the Obama administration, Bachmann said, the United States can’t drill off the cost of Florida, yet China is bringing an oil rig 50 miles off the coast of Florida. “Why is it good enough for the Cubans and good enough for the Chinese, but not for us?”

Just legalize the access to energy, she said, and the country will be able to take care of its needs. In a response to a question by Conway resident Ray Shakir, Bachmann said she would only appoint judges to the Supreme Court who would abide by the original intent of the Constitution. Of the three branches of government, she said, the Supreme Court should be the least powerful. The people, she said, should be the most powerful.
Power to the people and rigging off the cost. That's the path to $2/gallon gasoline. Yes she can.
