Default Town says it owes its life to the auto bailout

IMO there is no question at all that this was the right thing to do!

Kokomo had made an ignominious Forbes list of fastest-dying communities in America. The recession and collapse of the U.S. auto industry had battered the town. Three major employers — Chrysler, General Motors and Delphi, an auto parts supplier — had filed for bankruptcy. Hundreds of workers were laid off. Unemployment briefly topped 20 percent
    .

"Why anyone in a logical sense would ask for the largest employer in their community to be liquidated ... is not thinking rationally," he says. "At some point, government has to be the stabilizer."

Bean, you are finally admitting it was a good thing? We might be paying for it for years but I hate to think of the consequences had this not been done. We would have been paying for it in far worse ways.
